Sustainable Steel Region is an innovation platform focusing on the regional world-leading area Advanced Steel. 

The aim of SSR is to support innovation, develop existing companies and create new companies, from the need of industrial transition in the regional industry. The result can form the basis of a new high-tech industry in North Middle Sweden. Innovation projects develop new solutions, which can be taken out on the world market by existing or new companies, and we are there to help them.

We support companies to increase their competence and add value to the steel industry. Then we can increase the number of experts and the base of knowledge around advanced steel and steel production processes. We are closing the gap between steel industry and the surrounding environment, so we together can create better conditions for industrial symbiosis, circularity, low carbon products and higher values.

As you know, we have our background in Triple Steelix. The journey with SSR and the specific focus on industrial transition and resource efficiency started in the beginning of 2021. We have already several ongoing activities. Soon we will strengthen our capacity, which give us even better conditions to support companies and activities.
